Flying Nun is moving its operations up from Wellington to Auckland. Flying Nun will continue re-presenting, re-packaging and re-discovering music worth caring about. It will continue to make sure the music is accessible to fans from all around the world.
The head office will now be located in Auckland, alongside Arch Hill Recordings. Ben Howe (from Arch Hill) will become general manager, Roger Shepherd will work as a consultant and shareholder (based in Wellington) and Matthew Davis will move to Auckland to carry on as the local label manager.
In the current environment it makes sense for labels and independent music businesses to consolidate and share resources. In order to succeed we must keep the focus on working with great bands, making sure they are properly looked after and taking them to the world. We think this is the future for Flying Nun - from vinyl through to online.
R Records is pleased to support the relaunch of the iconic New Zealand label, Flying Nun Records. Over the last year the founder, Roger Shepherd, has been back in charge and has released 3 highly acclaimed albums: Grayson Gilmour, Die!Die!Die! and Robert Scott. There are some exciting plans for the label in 2011.

Off the Record - The Rock Network
The Rock has chosen Anything But Federal’s new single ‘Amongst Others’ for their Off the Record feature in February 08. This means the single will be on high rotation on the radio for the month, with further information on the band on The Rocks’s website. This is wonderful news for the band and recognition of the musical talents they have. We expect the EP to be available in all leading record stores very shortly, or it can be ordered via our website.
Jeff played his sold out show at Opium on 26 September. It was a great night with Tim Finn making a guest appearance on stage.
